Similie

The check and balance system and separation of powers are like the organ systems of the body. They all have separate jobs, but are intertwined to help each other and make sure each system is doing the right thing. They connect  to separation of powers because they all have different functions and responsibilities they must carry out in order for the body (government) to run smoothly. Each system could not survive without the others. They all come together to make sure each is and every system is running smoothly.

  1. I like how you compared checks and balances and the separation of powers to the systems of the body (anatomy!), and I agree that each of them must work together to function properly. Without the certain responsibilities of each branch, our government would fall apart and we'd be living in chaos. Do you feel an indirect democracy with three branches of government and checks and balances is efficient? Do you think our government would ever take up a different form (something other than having an indirect democracy)? If so, what may be the cause of this?
